Here is my post from my NBN Training with Jane. Showing her how publicize works.
Mail Archiving
Working in the TAFE system they only allow us to have a very small mail inbox. To assist with this issue we have forced to constantly archive our mail out of that inbox to an external location. Im not sure how comfortable I feel about this as I see it to be a security breach…. However I have now setup my apple mail to auto archive my mail from my TAFE box if its 180days or older.
Site Stats
So far my new site has been up and running for only a few short days and the stats look great for only a few days.
Photography
Photography where to start?
Well I guess firstly a big thank you to the person responsible for getting my into photography. Thank you Mr Robert Potter!!
Otterbox
Shopping for this phone case is driving me crazy… Lets go back to beginning and let me explain first of all…..
Ok way back in the beginning when I got one of my first iPhones I thought you know what; “I’m not going to get insurance on this plan and ill buy an otterbox this will be my insurance they are pretty strong. Having this Otterbox will be much cheaper than paying for insurance every month.”
So with that in mind the Otterbox was actually great! I have had just a plain black one in the past.
But this time I have been hunting for a particular model/colour. I was first made aware of the colour when one of my students bought one and showed me. I just loved the colour and the way it looked. So since then I have been to the following places;
- Richmond
- Blacktown
- Rouse Hill
- eBay
Going to all of these places has proven unsatisfactory as well no one has this particular colour I’m looking for.
Before I continue please take some time to look at this colour:
So now that you have taken some time to look at the image to the right. I would now ask you to direct your attention to the next image as i
would like to get some feedback from everyone about helping me choose which colour to get. If I simply choose just plain black I have the ability to purchase one as soon as right now from any retail outlet.
Lets move on to some maths/specifics there is one very big difference between wanting to get the blue/green and getting the plain black; and that is price point. The RRP for this case is $59.95AUD, this is the price weather I purchase from any retail outlet or purchase from Otterbox.com however if I purchase the blue/green from Otterbox.com there is an obvious charge aka delivery/freight; the delivery charge for a limited time is $9.95AUD, so now lets do the maths…. $59.95 + $9.95 = $69.99AUD. So with this grand total price in mind I’m not sure if its worth the extra cost.
Now for the plain black case:
So I guess the reason for this blog post is to get some points of view on what colour people think I should get for my iPhone.
For those of you who know me you will know that I am very impatient and I have been so close many a time to just get the plain black case for the following reasons: cheaper/quicker/simpler choice… list goes on…
Anyway hope all of you can take some time to look at this post. Many thanks in advance to all who take some time to read this, Thankyou 🙂
First day?!
Today was my first day out of the house since my op. It was quite refreshing to get out of the house and get some fresh air. The day started out alright. Went for a walk to get the morno coffee… couldn’t start the day with out that. Then off too the Telstra shop to get some answers on a couple of things:
- Otterbox case for iPhone 5s (Sienna Blue/Glow Green)
- Voip phone for home DSL connection
Well we all know what Telstra are like so I’m still yet to get some answers and I’m back home….
Then it was time to get some groceries for the week after many weeks saving I thought I might get the other half some treats from woolies.
As the day was progressing on everyone must have thought I was a total cripple and wanted to do absolutely everything for me. It was quite frustrating knowing that I’m not completely crippled and can sort things out myself. However I know its the thought that counts. SO its now 15:34, not long packed away the groceries and did some reorganising in the pantry and draws and what not. Its now time for the arvo coffee and maybe some game time on the iMac.
Frustration Setting in….
Ok so its now 15:22 on Thursday and I have been working away on this blog site for say almost 48hrs now and so far its looking great. Except for the following things:
- Im not happy with the theme and cannot find one that suits what i need; Built in social icons, Colour scheme to be right, Clean….
- Im now also looking to add my HDR photography work up here on a separate page. For me todo this I am going to need a gallery. So I installed “NexGen Gallery” It seems great except that I had to mod a file “php.ini” allowing me to upload more that 2MB… and it still isn’t working right….
So now I’m frustrated at this damned site Grrr
Internet, where would we be without it?
Upon fixing my internet connection here at home I came across this resource identifying the different line attenuation distances.
iPhone 5s case…. Decisions, decisions, dammed decisions
….. its that time again 😀
As some of you may know I have changed my mobile phone quite frequently more recently. Well you all will be glad to know that I have settled for a single handset at this point in time; iPhone 5S. Well its time to buy a case for this phone, I been tossing up in my head what to get, when I bought the phone I was going to get one of the “Apple Leather” cases; however I was told by the sales rep that being leather it will show signs of wear quite quickly and those cases RRP for like 50 odd dollars… So that brought my attention back to my all time fave case for mobile devices. Otterbox!!! I am asking for peoples opinions on the following case so if you could please take some time to comment below your thoughts on this case.

DNS…. THE ROOT.
DNS, what is it you might ask? well without DNS the internet as we know it today would just fall apart.
Well on OSX I have always used the following “dscacheutil -flushcache” to clear my DNS cache on my local OSX machine. It turns out that this is wrong… well for the latest OSX version anyway. For the latest OSX we should be using the following
